Support These Louisville Nonprofits from Home

Louisville nonprofits

From supporting stroke victims to helping people keep their beloved pets, local Louisville nonprofits strive to ensure that people have the assistance they need. If you would like to help support their causes, here are a few organizations you can check out:

Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association

Better known as KISSA, the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association is a resource center for those who have been affected by a stroke. It provides information on prevention and recovery and sponsors stroke clubs, health fairs, and other events. KISSA helps over 1,000 people every year. To help, consider making an online donation or arrange to donate an item for the association’s silent auction.

Dreams with Wings

Dreams with Wings helps individuals with autism and developmental disabilities as they discover their strengths while contributing to the community. It currently serves over 300 people living in apartments and residential homes. The organization also offers summer camp programs, occupational therapy, and an adult day program, among other services. Dreams with Wings accepts online donations, no matter how big or small.

My Dog Eats First

At My Dog Eats First, the mission is to help the “underserved and homeless with pets.” Betheny Green became inspired to establish the organization in 2003, after watching her teenaged son donate his meal to a homeless man and his dog. Today, Betheny keeps the homeless united with their companions while reducing the number of pets surrendered to shelters due to financial hardships. To help, shop for your favorite products on AmazonSmile. Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase price to My Dog Eats First for food, low cost clinics, and more.
