Found in nearly every country, there are over 34,000 golf courses around the world. When you’re ready to test your golfing skills, Louisville is home to several amazing golf courses. Those near our apartments in Louisville include:
Seneca Golf Course
Rated the sixth toughest course in Kentucky, at Seneca you’re sure to use every club in your bag. It opened in 1934, and has grown to welcome locals and visitors alike. True to the course’s name, it meanders through Seneca Park. The rolling terrain offers plenty of challenges, and it stretches over 7,000 yards from the championship tees. You can easily book a tee time online. In addition, Seneca also features a newly renovated driving range adjacent to the first tee. The range features a bunker and two practice greens, and the cost is five dollars for about forty balls.
Shawnee Golf Course
Nestled along the Ohio River, the Shawnee Golf Course is known as Louisville’s most player-friendly course. It features an 18-hole layout as well as a three-hole junior course perfect for those just learning the game. On the traditional course, you’ll find Bermuda tees/fairways and bentgrass greens. You can walk or ride and book your tee time in advance.
Cherokee Golf Course
Cherokee opened in 1895, making it one of the country’s oldest municipal golf courses. As the shortest of the Louisville Parks golf courses, it’s a fabulous place to work on your short game. The course boasts a hilly layout. The two lake holes may raise your score, and you can warm up before your round on the large practice putting green.
