Just a short drive from our Louisville apartments at the Axis on Lexington, the Louisville Equestrian Center offers lessons for riders of all ages. If you’re not interested in horse-riding, consider making a donation! All donations through the Support a Horse Program are used for the training horses’ daily care, food, and veterinary services. Read on to learn more about the services available:

Louisville Equestrian Center

The Louisville Equestrian Center is the largest riding academy in the region. The sprawling grounds include indoor and outdoor arenas, tack rooms, and viewing areas. The center is led by equestrian expert Betsy Webb. She is the only Level III certified instructor of the American Riding Instructors Association in Kentucky.

Not sure if horseback riding is for you? Be adventurous and try out the center’s EQuest Adult Riding Program. The 6-week course focuses on a variety of different riding styles. Each 2-hour course includes a 45-minute riding lesson and an intensive lecture from Betsy Webb. The cost of the 6-week course is $490, but be sure to check the website for limited-time special deals.

Louisville Equestrian Center requests that all visitors follow the appropriate safety guidelines.  Riders must sign a COVID-19 release form and masks are required while inside the barn. Riders are only allowed to arrive 10 minutes prior to lessons and must leave no more than five minutes after. Hands must be washed immediately upon entering the barn and everyone must adhere to the social distancing rules and stay six feet apart.

Horseback riding is a wonderful way to de-stress while enjoying the fresh air and beauty of the outdoors. The Louisville Equestrian Center is a leader in the booming equine industry of Kentucky. The highly-trained professionals at LEC are fantastic teachers who can teach you everything you need to know about horses.
